We Are Ann - The Story of An American Fashion Brand : Ann Taylor Heritage My name is Andrew Taylor and I am the Director of Public Relations at Ann Taylor. Thank you for coming to the meeting. I’m glad you guys were able to make it. I think it’s a great idea first to meet because we have a lot work ahead of us and it’s important for us to have an understanding of where the brands fit and where we’re going. One of the exciting things about Ann Taylor is our Heritage. We started in 1954 and we were actually named after a very popular best selling shirt dress called the Ann Taylor. So, there is no true Ann Taylor person per se. I was actually a biology major. I came from a family of doctors who wanted me to be a doctor, but New York City backend. Ann Taylor been very important over the decades for women’s fashion from the 60s and 70s, wear a very chic, stylish. 70s and 80s started to find our voice. 90s going to represented the power woman. 2000 represents fashion; bringing us to kind our 50th Anniversary with the ‘I am Ann’ campaign. And all of this really has contributed to American fashion. Everything we’re doing is new. So, we’re constantly challenged to do new, exciting, unexpected things for the brand. To stay modern, we’re going to need to stay on top of what the trends are out there. I think that our designer Lisa Axelson is so good and kind of having her eye on what is going on in the marketplace and interpreting it in a way for the end-client.
