Rhiannnon Ally: Memorial Day is also the unofficial kickoff to summer. So is your wardrobe ready for it? Leslie met up with the fashion savvy celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch. Lesley Nagy: Hi I'm here with celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch who’s going to teach us how to get our wardrobe ready for those hot summer trends. What can we expect? Phillip Bloch: Oh it’s all about global warming and fashion but lots of skin is in. If you want to say goodbye to the cold and hello warm summer, then getting that skin ready is the first thing I always say, I'm kind of like an artist in fashion, you know. And you want to start like on the canvas, you want to prepare the canvas. So I always say moisturize, we start with Keri’s fast absorbing lotion. Lesley Nagy: So, skin is in and I see gold? Phillip Bloch: Gold, it’s all about being bold and gold. Everybody is wearing lots of gold. I think it’s something from the Olympics, lots of pendants on different kinds of chains. It’s all of the vintage inspiration. It’s all about bangles. I love these big bangles. That is beautiful. I love this, a little bit of sparkle in it, not too much. Lesley Nagy: And really dress up something casually. What would be some wardrobe must-haves? Phillip Bloch: Wardrobe must-haves, got to have a great little cropped blazer, you want to have some camp shorts, you know the kind of fuller shorts and I think a great strapless dress because a strapless dress you can layer a tank top over it so it doesn’t look strapless. You could put a cardigan on it or a blazer. There’s lots of ways to dress it up, dress it down. And I always look for pieces in fashion that are going to go from day to evening. A lot of times my Hollywood clients, you know they’ve got kids, they got to go to meetings with the agents, they got to go to a casting or a reading, then they’ve got a cocktail party and then they got to get home and the supermarket. There’s so much going on in everybody’s life. We can't change for everything. I brought a model, can I show you? Lesley Nagy: Oh please. Phillip Bloch: She’s my best walking example here. We took this great little strapless dress for about $30.00 and isn't this amazing? Lesley Nagy: Wow! Phillip Bloch: It’s got a little bit of stretch in it. We like the stretch and then we threw this fun scarf on, $9.99 for the scarf and feel, it’s a beautiful little thin cotton and— Lesley Nagy: And a floral pattern, is that in too? Phillip Bloch: Vintage florals are very, very—either big bowed florals or little vintage florals and this is kind of somewhere in the middle. We’re going to bring this into a one-two-three right into an evening outfit, you got the hat, statement necklace, the big, bold, gold statement necklace whether you’ve got a t-shirt on, a tank top or a strapless dress, bangles, you know instantly she’s in an evening outfit without having to run home and change. You could have put these little accessories in a little bucket bag and you're ready to go. Rhiannon Ally: I’ll keep my bag handy and I'm definitely going to go for gold this summer. Thanks Lesley.
