Amy Salinger: Hello and welcome to this edition of Sass N Style. This is the episode two of shop your closet for recession proof Style. I do love having a sidekick in front of me, which is was in just the Amy Salinger show. So, in this episode, it's the Amy Salinger and Erin Donnelley show. We're very good together. Moving on we're going to talk about recession proof style, so this time I want to have a little more fun because last time we were talking about basics, we talked about a suit, we talked about great flat quality dress or a cocktail dress that we can make into all of our different holiday look. Well, let's see what we've got over here. This is like your basic neutral brown blazer, I love this blazer. Brown or black doesn't mean neutral because its only be neutral I should say, mauve, you know different easy soft on the eye types of colors, just like this one can work as neutral in your wardrobe. So, what don't you throw that up on there and why don't you and I get to work. Erin Donnelley: Sounds good. Amy Salinger: Alright let's go. So, first up we're going to do the blazer that we've picked out in your closet. You don't have to have completely simple neutral colors for all the things that you consider your foundation pieces. Blazers can dress up, dress down any outfit, they are good go to piece for warmth and style and a structured silhouette. We're doing a more casual look here. This is her, I'm going out for drinks with my boyfriend look. So obviously we pick a layered washed jean, because we want to make her little more casual. Like I said in another episode, the straight leg jean is probably the best style for multiple body types. I've added a little bit of sexiness here. I've this great lace, little camisole underneath. As you can see it's a bit short, don't afraid. In everybody's wardrobe, you should have longer tank tops, because it takes your wardrobe from being this big to being this big. We do have necklaces, right. Let's put a big bold necklace on her. Let's go over here. In this season huge, statement necklaces. I love them because I like little bit of fun. You have an own a really fabulous one, where did you get this? Erin Donnelley: On SteinMart. Amy Salinger: SteinMart. I love, a throw back to an old school department store, perfect. I love that, it has a little bit of flash, it's kind a playing up the lacy feel. So, we've got a little bit of sexiness going on to middle, but she still -- you know you're appropriate. You know so you can go to dinner and then whip it off, for your big night of dancing. You know hello. Let's grab a bag, that's going to go along the little bit more of flash. I'm pulling out yet again you saw this in the other episode, the patent leather black clutch. Accessories of patent leather works best. Belts, bags, shoes add that depth without taking away from the rest of your look. As you guys already know I love vintage, I love thrift, this was $5 at a thrift store. Now the final touch for outfit, we pan down here. These are not real big, but the point is, you can go with something big I usually don't say it if it doesn't look cheap. If it looks cheap, you look cheap and you don't want to be cheap. A great you know multitude of colors we are on here. There is a little bit of pink hue which as we pan up, oh my God she has on pink on the top half. So you are seeing how it's carrying through out the outfit. You're ready for your dinner and drinks. Erin Donnelley: Yes. Amy Salinger: Let's show with blazer in round two. So, now I'm going to show you the blazer in a business casual way. The business casual does not mean boring. This outfit literally you can wear anywhere from if you work at a place like City Bank. Does City Bank still exists? Erin Donnelley: Yeah. Amy Salinger: I don't even know in this time of recession. So you may not have a job but Donnelley, you're going to keep walking to that meeting of nothing. So got this camisole underneath, I think it's sleeveless. Oh look, it is sleeveless and it's from Banana Republic, correct? The trick about Banana Republic that a lot of people don't have the patience for is, everything goes on sale. You can go through and you can always find different little camisoles like this. I have my own little so, please. I have own little so camisole underneath here and this can be worn on its own, it can be worn as a layering piece. Black wide leg pants, another great staple piece of one's wardrobe. A wide leg pant is great for most body type. You always want pants to fit in the thigh, no matter what size you are. When you say wide leg, wide means the bottom half of the leg down here, we want it to be wide more in through here and fit in through the thigh, which is what Erin is showing. I love these shoes, classic black shoe but they are thrown off a little bit, they are round toe. They do have a little bit of height because they are not have full blown heel, you can actually walk around the office with a little bit more support which is key. Functionable fashion you want to be comfortable with. Let's go and draw on some accessories with this. I'm going to pull out one of the earrings that I love. This is Kenneth Jay Lane, isn't it? And the greatest part of I've added I'm going to show to you close up. Besides the fact that it's really fun, if you look side ways Kenneth Jay Lane always does an adjustable layer inside at his ring. So, no matter what size fingers you are, it is going to fit you. And then I know we were talking about earrings. Oh, they are right here. Through all of the looks that I'm doing, I keep coming back to this shelf, this whole of jewelry and bags, why because those are the things that really make your outfit pop. It's about adding different fun pieces to make you really pop. And then of course we're coming back to our big bag. Hello, and you're ready for your business meeting no matter who you are and where you work and I guess whether you have a job or not.
