Nigel Barker’s Tips for Taking the Perfect Picture Alison McNamara: We talked with America’s Next Top Model judge and fashion photographer Niger Barker who shows us tricks from his new book Nigel Baker’s Beauty Equation on how to post like model and take the perfect picture. Nigel Barker: Spontaneity is a very useful when you try to take a picture. As a model, you don’t just want to be that façade. You got to have something that’s going to be great spot. It's my job to coach, very authentic, are you compassionate, do you have a sense of humor? If you are a Goth, be a Goth. If you are a punk, be a punk. Be yourself, because there is nothing more beautiful than that individual that you are. Alison McNamara: We are going to try and put all that into action and we brought in Jamie who works here at PopSugar. Nigel Barker: There is really nothing more important than smiling with your eyes. Your eyes are the windows of your soul and they truly tell the story of who you are. That will be iconic from the inside out. Not using your mouth at all, I want you just to talk to me with your eyes. Think of chocolate soufflé. What do you have for breakfast this morning? Who is your secret crush? You see, you see you have your eyes are immediately talking the otherwise you got dull, listless eyes. People like to talk about having a good side and a bad side. It's not the case. You make you think you got a bad side but your bad side might be what other people like. Alison McNamara: Thank you so much Nigel for coming in and sharing all your fantastic tips.
