Hi, I’m Eric Daman for Gossip Girl. Check out my new book “You Know You Want It.” I’m going to go over the set now. When I first started to do my book, I want to give the reader something positive and share with them all the lessons I’ve learned as stylist throughout my life and my career. Stylist are fluid and you can be whoever you want everyday and it’s okay to take chances so be confident in your choices. Style is 80% confidence and 20% fashion. You can walk into a room with a gigantic dramatic head on as long as you’re confident about it and believe in yourself. Don’t apologize accessorize. You can have a lot of fun with it and that’s the point. My basic essentials for a woman’s closet there’s only three. A classic white T-shirt to be in my first pick a high end Ti Bato from France with a boat neck or Fruit of the Loom. Soon you’re going to turn your head towards me just a little bit. Next Eric Daman essential for your closet, the little black dress or maybe it’s not a little black dress, maybe it’s a little blue dress or maybe it is a little black dress. The idea of this is yeah, totally like that Brooke Shields, Farrah Fawcett Charlie’s Angels Madness. It’s pretty great, great. And the last basic essential the perfect fitting jean, when I was growing up the idea jean campaign was the Brooke Shields Calvin Klein add and nothing comes between me and my palate so I’m doing my inspiration of that on the 70’s thing. You know they talk about like look its really essential to have the best fitting jeans you can find. With everything bout the pockets, the way they fit, the length inside or two, if you find a perfect a gene and two here and one for heels and one for flats. It try to teach you to think like a stylist and part of the thing that we as stylist do all the time is try to create a signature piece for either character or an individual and be it Blair’s headbands Madonna’s Gummy Bracelets or Laverne’s L a big part of becoming your own person is finding your signature piece. Hopefully something you’re going to learn in my book is to be your own muse and find style in everyday things around you, a trip to the flower market where you see the perfect shade of red, watching a film nuar where you can find the most amazing inspiration for a headband and maybe a trip to Austria where you can find beautiful crystals. Just be inspired by everything that’s around you. Keep your eyes and your mind open and in no time you’ll be your own stylist. I need something sparkly right there. Female: It needs a broche.
