Mad Men Inspired Lips, Tools for the Best Brows, and Sienna's Beachy Waves Annie: On this week’s Bella Beauty Tip, you don’t have to spend a fortune to get classy Mad Men inspired retro beauty. I’ll show you a fun new line that takes the best of the ‘60s and makes it hot for today’s girl. In what’s in your Beauty Bag? Makeup artist Barbara Guillaume reveals thee must haves for creating the perfect eyebrows. And then celebrity secret weapon, hair stylist Daniel Erdman shows you to get the Beachy Waves he gave to Sienna Miller for her Nylon Magazine cover. I’m Annie and you’re watching Bella TV. And now for your weekend Bella Beauty Tips. One of the questions I’m asked all the time is, how do I wear a red lipstick? And a lot of people think you can’t do it but trust me there’s a red for everybody. And the one that I’m really into these days is the one that I have on right now. It’s from Mode Cosmetics that’s called Mad Red. It’s actually inspired by Mad Men who’s got this really great 1960’s vibes to it. It has a matching nail polish as you can see and the best part of this is that you can look like Joan Holloway but you don’t have to spend a lot of money. The nail polish is only $3.50 and the lipstick is $4.75. So that’s a pretty mad deal if you ask me. That’s the Bella Beauty Tip of the week. Barbara Guillaume: Hi, I’m Barbara Guillaume. I’m a celebrity make up artist, I specialized make up for male actors. Over the years, I’ve learned a bunch of secrets that a lot of make up artist for females don’t know. One of my tricks is to focus on the eyebrow. With a perfect eyebrow you will look perfect and you don’t need to add any more make up. We would start with this pencil, it comes with the combing brush from Kevyn Aucoin. So this is a must have. I take the brush side of it and you comb through it. It’s like drawing you don’t want to put too much still it has to look natural. Then after that, I have the Great Lash from Maybelline, it looks natural you can see it is clear that is also a must have. And then I use this, this is my little secret. It’s from Lancome. It’s a shine that I would put right underneath the eyebrow to give a little pop. It just makes all the difference. And those are my three essentials for a perfect eyebrow. Annie: Crave sexy tasseled waves ala Sienna Miller? She may not be from California but you would know it looking at her just from the Beach Hair. She has master the loose and lovely look with the help of her secret weapon celebrity hair stylist Daniel Erdman. Zelana: So why did you choose this looks for Sienna? Daniel Erdman: Well, we wanted to kind of have a look for Sienna that really brought out her playfulness a fun base because that’s really who she is. The color element that soft kind of ‘60s vibe was really something that kind of brought that out. Zelana: So what are your Must Have tools to create Sienna look? Daniel Erdman: You need a Great Curling iron used the right way mixed with the beach spray. And really those are my secret weapons. Zelana: What are the steps that I need to take to create this look? Daniel Erdman: I’m going to show you how its use the curling iron. Using a comb, you pick a section of hair making sure you get close to the root. Once I’ve got the hair in the comb is to hold it in place and spray. That way the product is kind of heated into the hair and it doesn’t have to be perfect because what we’re really trying to do is create a kind of natural look and then allow it to drop. So when creating ‘60s looks the height of your hairstyle is back here. So what you want to do is take a section, put curling ion in, spray, slide the hair off and pin it and let it cool down. What you’re really looking to do is create root lift at the crown of the head. Now, it’s time to start finger waving and even using a hair dryer. If you really want to achieve that Sienna look which is natural loose and approachable. You want to really break up what we’ve done with the curling iron and the spray by using a open hand and moving it through the hair using from heat from the hair dryer to really make this look yours. Imperfect hair is cool, so the more you work the hair with your hands and the hair dryer the better. Zelana: So now that I have this perfect Beachy wave. What are some other looks I can do with it? Daniel Erdman: So from here you can pull the hair up, create that loose ‘60s ponytail. You could pull it back and then just have some loose curls out. We’re taking this kind of loose sexy beach hair. I’m just making a modern twist that all of a sudden you’re good to go and you’re going out for the evening.
