Host: A lot of people need holiday gift ideas so who better to turn to than the woman I love, the real housewife of New York herself, Jill Zarin. Jill: So sweet. Host: Jill’s playing Santa Claus today. She’s giving us a few party gift ideas, it’s part gift ideas, part housewife gossip right, because you’ve got to give us a little bit. Jill: I’ll give you a little bit of gossip but I want to hear about those tips for the doorman because I just got my list last night literally from my doorman of everybody and I’d like to know what other people do. I know what I do. I take a month’s maintenance and I divide it among the staff. That’s my tip. Host: I think that’s what they’re going to say too. It’s different depending on what you— Jill: I think it’s like a month’s salary and I divide them among them but I would like to know what other people do. Host: Exactly, it’s pretty interesting. Let’s talk about you though, as far as the gifts are concerned, these are gifts you plan on giving family members, maybe some of the other cast members maybe? You’re giving them gifts? Jill: You know you have to wait and watch and see what happens on who gets my favorite gift of the season. I’ve been working with Kodak since mother’s day because I’ve always grown up with photographs and I’m a photographer and I met with Kodak and it was just a perfect synergy and one of my favorite gifts for the season, it always has been but now I get to talk about it which is like the biggest thrill of my life are the photobooks. They have these new personalized photo albums. They start at $34.99 for I think it’s about 20 pages and this like my new favorite thing. This is where I show a picture of the chicken that I made and the exact recipe. Host: Look at those pictures, it looks really, really good. Jill: It’s really, really yummy and this is just another one is my mom and I, a picture of us. I think it was from September from Roshashana and her favorite recipe, pot roast. But I think that—and she makes it so good because she’s just… Host: And you mom’s very popular on the show. Jill: My mother’s very popular on the show and then on the back, not to be a little self serving, you can have a picture of yourself who made it and get credit for the books. Everybody knows in the family who made the book. It’s very important, we like to get credit. Host: Make A Wish and also Susan G. Komen. Jill: Right. These are not charities that I work with directly but they’re charities around the country and I wanted to bring something to you that would be easy for people. I think it’s very very nice to be charitable at this time of year. Even if its $5.00 or $10.00. If you’re working and I know if you’re not working, you don’t want to give it a penny because you do have reserve your resources but if you’re fortunate enough to be working and have a few dollars, I think that some family recipients would like to make a donation. Especially the older people who may not need anything, they have everything that they need to make a donation in their honor. Host: For the sake of time, let’s go through this one here. Manicure and pedicure that every woman loves, it doesn’t matter where it is, gift certificates for that but let’s say— Jill: It’s safe, the mani pedi, it’s safe. Everyone needs one Host: You can’t go wrong with that. Jill: By the way, if your friend isn’t doing mani pedis, it’s a way to tell her get your nails done please. Host: Get those claws fixed. Let’s talk about these earrings because I love these. Jill: This is from Jerry Co and Jeweler. Let me tell you what’s great about these, the clasp. These have a lock because these fall off, that’s why I wear a lot of faux, these pave type of earrings because I lose them. Host: You’re not trying to lose the real thing. Jill: This one that I’m wearing now has a good clasp on it but it doesn’t lock so this thing, if it gets weaker, could eventually fall out of my ear so these are about $200.00 retail. The giant hoops and the small ones are $165.00 and then the last thing is ___ chocolate which is something that I found about a year ago. I actually sell it through my website jillzarinchocolate.com. It’s sort of a multilevel marketing company but that’s how I lost weight, a lot of people what to know how. Host: What from chocolate? Jill: Yes, it’s dark chocolate and I eat three to five pieces a day. Host: Only she could say something like that and you really look fabulous. Jill: Thank you so much. Host: Are you doing a book with your mom? Jill: I am, Secrets of a Jewish Mother, it’s out for mother’s day and I’m beyond excited. You’re going to love it. Host: I love your mother already. Jill: It’s everything, it’s marriage, it’s dating advice, it’s how to get a guy, how to keep a guy. What should make you happy. Host: So what would make me happy is one little tidbit before we go. Any secrets about the new season coming up, anything that you can tell us, who’s going to be around, who’s leaving, anything? Jill: There are two extra new housewives that they’ve been filming with. We don’t know who’s going to end up. Right now, we have eight and it’s hard to believe there’ll be eight. I think they’re going to have to dwindle it down and the question, who’s going to go. Host: Nobody’s crashing the White House though on the show right? Jill: We do have crashes. Alex and Simon have been known to— Host: I’m zipping my mouth. Thank you so much Jill, it was so good to have you here, we appreciate it. Jill: Thank you so much.
