Jay Manuel: Hey! I’m Jay from Style Her Famous. I’m going to show you how to get the Reese Witherspoon makeup look. The first thing we’re going to really focus on with in terms of your skin, is you’ve got really, really even skin, but there is a little bit of redness. So, what we’re going to do is do a really, really sheer finish to the skin in terms of foundation, light powder and iridescent. So, I think you’ll have the same glow that Reese has. Now, to get that really perfect finished skin, you usually want to start with a sheer liquid foundation. Now, notice how I’m not using concealer first. Larissa Decker: Right. Jay Manuel: Now as a woman, you probably thought to put on makeup, you had to put concealer on first right? Larissa Decker: Yeah. Jay Manuel: Now you know you don’t have to. If you use it on top of the foundation, you’ll end up with a more natural look. This is a really easy concealer you use because it’s actually a highlighter and you can use it on top of your foundation as opposed to a traditional heavy concealer. I mean you’re lucky, your skin is very, very even, but for those times, we get a little more redness than others or you feel like you haven’t had as much sleep because you got those kids and they’re keeping up at night, you might need a little bit to use underneath your eyes. Larissa Decker: Okay. Jay Manuel: Okay. Larissa Decker: And it goes directly under just like that? Jay Manuel: Yup, right. Larissa Decker: Rub it in? Jay Manuel: Yup. We’re going to add a little bit of the radiance into the skin right now. All I’m going to do is use a spray shimmer. It’s one of my favorites and it is the easiest thing to use. I’m going to have you, just hold your breath just for a second so that you know that I’m spraying, all right. Larissa Decker: Okay. Jay Manuel: Just close your eyes and hold your breath for a second and you don’t squint to anything. We’re going to start with eye shadow now. Do you feel right there? Larissa Decker: Yes. Jay Manuel: Right on your lid, it’s literally right on the eyeball. All I’m doing is highlighting your lid with shadow. By highlighting your lid with a light shadow and allowing the dark shadow to fall on the crease, it’s going to give you a bigger eye. It creates the illusion that you have big doll eyes which look already without the dark shadow. Larissa Decker: Looks good. Jay Manuel: It looks like your eye is bigger. Larissa Decker: Big on that one. Jay Manuel: Exactly. Then we’ll go, I’m going to take the exact same color. I’m just smudging a little bit at right beneath your bottom lashes. By bringing this neutral color in underneath your eyes, it creates the illusion that the eye is bigger without it looking like I’d be using heavy eyeliner or anything. Did you know that you could use blush as eye shadow, you could also use this as a lip stain and just use as a lip balm. Larissa Decker: Really? Jay Manuel: So really, you can use it as a 3-in-1 product. Larissa Decker: Wow. Jay Manuel: And what it does is it imparts this beautiful monochromatic look and everyone thinks, “Wow, are you some cool makeup artist, like how does that does look different,” but it really is just being quick and easy. Larissa Decker: Right. Jay Manuel: All I’m going to do is put a real, real soft wash of blush on your cheeks. Reese really concentrates on just putting a little bit of blush on the apple of the cheeks. It gives that Sunkist look without it looking too forced which is effortless. It’s really pretty. Sometimes I take a little across the nose. Makes it look a little, like you’ve been out in the sun. Now, do you remember that little trick I taught you about using blush as a lip stain? Larissa Decker: Yeah. Jay Manuel: That’s what I’m going to do right now. This is literally just a paint blush. So, now all I’m doing is just following through with a little kind of gold, pink lip gloss and it just brings, it is just that soft dimension to the lip without taking away the pink stain you put on. Alright, so do you love the look? Larissa Decker: I love it, I look great. I don’t feel like I’m such a movie star or so glamorous. I feel very relaxed and calm and have that natural glow bitchy look tonight, but I love it Jay Manuel: I really know what’s really interesting is you just described Reese’s look but I think looking at you, you really do stand out now. That’s all it takes to get Reese Witherspoon’s preppy day look.
