Welcome back to the Getting Started to Gmail series. In your Gmail Account Settings, you may notice something called Labs. Labs is where you can find new features that the Gmail team is currently testing. It’s your choice whether or not you want to enable these features. And since they are in the testing phase, you should know that they may not work at times and may disappear at any time. You may find some these features useful so it’s definitely worth the look. Down at the bottom of you Gmail account, there are some information that maybe useful but could otherwise go unnoticed. First, you'll see how much space you're currently using in your Gmail account. Gmail provides you with so much space; I wouldn’t worry about running out of space. You'll also see the last time your account was active and what IP address was creating that activity. IP stands for Internet Protocol and it’s a unique number for every computer connected to the public internet. If you click on details, you'll be able to see any IP addresses that may have logged into your Gmail account and when. You'll see your own IP address here. This information is useful when trying to see if someone other than you has been logging into your Gmail account. If you forget to sign out of your Gmail account when using another computer for example at work or the library, then you'll see here if it’s open in another location and you have the options of signing yourself out of that location. Remember there are ten parts to these series so don’t forget to check out the other parts in the Getting Started to Gmail series.
