Beauty Trends From New York Fashion Week Spring 2011 Zelana Montminy: With New York Fashion Week wrapped up, we’re bringing you the top beauty trends for spring straight from the runways. For the eyes, Andy Warhol Style pop colors are going to be big for spring. Yigal Azrouel—on the Bravo and Derek Lam for the strong orange lid. As for the faces, natural fresh faces with a pop of color in the lips were shown on the runways. We saw great rose lips to Tommy Hilfiger, orange lipstick with a side fishtail of Lela Rose. And graphic pink lips at Diane von Furstenburg. Other bright lips include Milly, Ohne Titel and J. Mendel. Big buns are the way to go for hair next year. We spotted them whilst and wet at Yigal Azrouel, and well and relaxed at Diane von Furstenburg and Rachel Roy. High buns were done elegantly by Oscar de la Renta, and then Alice and Olivia; we saw new full buns and double buns too. Ric Pipino: We created a number of shinions, maybe a couple of shinions in the hair. As you see there’s like little buns in the back of the hair, the whole core of the hair was really textured and giving volume, and giving a nice, sexy feel to that. Zelana Montminy: For nails, you can look forward to nude and piece of polishes next spring as well as a couple of new designer collaborations from Prabal Gurung and Jason Wu. Prabal and Sally Hansen had come out with six limited edition shades inspired by his spring collection. And Jason Wu debuted a new polish co-design with CND. Jan Arnold: I think that we’re still seeing a full coverage nail, so it’s not a shear or a buff nail. Perfectly Bare is really our lead color for spring. Zelana Montminy: At the other end of the spectrum, designers like Zac Posen and Ruffian showcased prints and moon manicures. While Cushnie et Ochs and Alice and Olivia turned out different style faux nails. Stacey Bendet: Yeah. All the models have on this like crazy—now. You got to like zoom in and check them out. And I have, at the momen, of course my Lia Sophia jewelry. Zelana Montminy: The 70s glam look is back for spring. Rebecca Taylor, Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch, Ports 1961 and Vena Cava channeled their favorite icons of the decade on the runway. We specially thought Rebecca Taylor’s make-up channeling retro—with a standout. I’m Zelana. Thanks for watching Bella Sugar. Stay beautiful.
