Adam Lambert, Rihanna, Shakira Rock AMA Awards Diana: Hey everyone! I’m Diana for Hollyscoop.com. I’m here at the 2009 American Music Awards and that big talk on the red carpet is Michael Jackson. Let’s get to it. How did your life change since you did in the movie This Is It? Orianthi Panagaris: It’s just pretty crazy. Yes, seeing the movie was really emotional for me the first time; second time, looking back in these incredible memories work with everybody. Diana: Did Michael Jackson give any advice at any point? Orianthi Panagaris: To hit my highest notes. Have you seen the film? Diana: Yes. Orianthi Panagaris: So forever, I’m going to be hitting my highest note and he didn’t want to us to be nervous. He wanted us to project the energy out to the crowd and just to put on a good show. Diana: Michael Jackson is nominated, were you a fan of him? Melody Thornton: Hello? My God, Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson are my two all time favorites. Diana: 2009 Biggest Story of the Year, what do you think it was? Melody Thornton: Michael Jackson, yes without a doubt. I still cry at night and like when I’m by myself, definitely it’s painful. Drake: I don’t know who wasn’t a fan of Michael Jackson. He’s one of the most inspiring individuals, a great entertainer and I think it’s great that we’re celebrating in the night. Selena Gomez: I think it’s so wonderful that his music is continuing to live on rightfully so. Diana: Did he ever influenced you guys in your music? Male: I think he influenced us just as a performer and an artist, I mean his shows were spectacular. I think he influenced every artist in a way. Male: He was an amazing performer, artist and dancer and I think everyone is sorry to have him not around anymore. Diana: Biggest Story of 2009, what’s the biggest story— Dakota Lamas: So much happened, Michael Jackson, yes I would say definitely that tops the charts. Diana: I have to first start off with what you’re wearing. Let me guess, who inspired you? Male: I can’t remember. I think Michael Jackson I think it is, that guy. Diana: I thought it was somebody else but it could be Michael Jackson. Male: I’m pretty sure it’s Michael Jackson. I’m pretty sure. Diana: And he’s nominated today. Male: Five times. And I hope he wins every last one of them as he should. Diana: Who are you fan of? Melody Thornton: Lady Gaga all night long. Oh yes, she’s a labelmate also. She’s run the same label. People get when I say labelmate, yeah. Pussycat Dolls, Lady Gaga, we were on tour together. I got to be like a big fan of her. She’s kind of like as she was growing and I’ll never stop supporting her. She’s amazing. Male: We already won a BET Awards. We’ve been nominated for BET Award and then A&M. It’s just feels real good. Diana: Is he proud? Male: Of course. He actually told us and like rumor has it that he’s never told any of his audience that he was—that he was proud of him. He actually told us like, “Gosh, I’m really proud of you guys.” Male: Working for Dee-Dee you know he’s a businessman, so you just got to really bring your—You can’t let him won something for your life more than you want. Diana: What are you looking for the most? Blake Lewis: I’m looking forward to Janet Jackson. I’ve never seen her live before, so I’m excited about that. My homie Adam Lambert playing. Diana: A lot of American Idol like contestants and winners out here today. Blake Lewis: We’re breaking through the pop culture industry. Diana: There’s Carrie Underwood. Blake Lewis: I know it’s crazy, Kelly Clarkson too you know yes. Diana: What can you give like tips to the next set of people on American Idol and the season is going to start too. Blake Lewis: I always say like learn the business because I’ve been doing it for 12 years and each year is like constantly more information is in doubt upon me. Selena Gomez: I love Rihanna I think she’s so beautiful and she’s strong, so I’m excited to see her. Diana: How about Lady Gaga? Selena Gomez: I love Lady Gaga. I think she’s so fierce and I love all her wardrobe. Alex Meraz: Jay-Z, Alicia Keys but I’m a fan yes and I want to see Shakira do her thing. Diana: She should be a vampire or— Alex Meraz: I don’t know I think she’s gone with the wolf. Male: We’re Comic Book Heroes and that’s the scope from Hollyscoop.
