A Look at Oscar Winning Film The Hurt Locker Male: The big winner of the 2010 Oscars was the Hurt Locker. The film vividly depicts the elite soldiers of Bravo Company who have one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, disarming bombs in the heat combat. The movies director Kathryn Bigelow became the first female director to win Oscar in the award shows 82-year history. Accepting the award from Barbara Streisand, Bigelow described the win as the moment of a lifetime. Nominated for 9 Academy awards, the movie amazingly come to a total of six Oscars which included wins for Best Screen Play and Best Picture. On set, Bigelow described the secret behind the movies pretty realism. Kathryn Bigelow On this particular project, I wanted to feel very much like a documentary. And so I wanted it to kind of appears if it’s unfolding before you almost in real time. Male: Best actor nominee Jeremy Renner was attracted to the project for number of reasons but one in particular threw him the most. His—war film fought off stiff competition from Bigelow’s ex-husband James Cameron whose epic sci-fi adventure Avatar who’s also nominated for 9 Oscars but in the end only one film could prevail as best of the year, the Hurt Locker took that honor.
